Italy has required e-invoicing via the SdI exchange system for years.
FatturaPA is Italy’s XML invoice format exchanged through the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI). It predates EN 16931 and uses its own schema.
InvoiceHub validates EN 16931 UBL invoices today; FatturaPA schema support is on our roadmap. For EU-wide interoperability, validating the EN 16931 representation is a useful first step.
