Validation is unlimited and free forever on every plan — it is never gated. Only /generate counts against your monthly document quota, and only for documents that actually pass validation: a failed (422) generation attempt never consumes quota. Quota resets on the first of each UTC calendar month.
You get an HTTP 402 with your current plan, limit, reset time, and an upgrade link — not a silent failure and not a misleading "rate limited, try again soon". A separate, flat 600 req/min abuse-prevention limit applies equally to every plan and is unrelated to your document quota.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately via Stripe, and you can manage or cancel your subscription from the billing portal in your dashboard at any time. If a card payment fails, we do not cut off access mid-cycle — you keep your current plan through Stripe's retry window.
Generation and validation process invoices in memory to produce the result. We log usage metadata (format, validity, timing, document counts) for analytics and billing, not invoice contents.
